Work for ACORN

Voter Registration (1x Supervisor, 2X Lead)

  • 1 x Voter Registration Supervisor (in either Manchester, Bristol or Sheffield)
  • 1 x Voter Registration Lead Sheffield
  • 1 x Voter Registration Lead Bristol

About the job

The more unstable your housing situation, the less likely you are to be registered to vote. The less you vote, the less politicians care about you. At the local level, engagement with politics is often extremely low yet cities have a huge amount of say what money gets spent on, or what it doesn’t.

Following on from the success of our Renters Vote campaign in the 2019 general election ACORN is replicating the process on a bigger scale and focused on the Mayoral and local elections.

As a Voter Registration Lead you will be working in Bristol or Sheffield to register private tenants, the vulnerably housed and homeless to vote and turn them out on election day and to recruit, train & manage volunteers to assist with the work. In the case of the supervisory position, you will also remotely supervise and line manage three other colleagues engaged in the same work.
