Trade Union Affiliation

Thank you for considering affiliation with ACORN - support and solidarity of this kind is essential in the fight for a fairer deal for our communities. Your financial contribution will help us to continue building the power of ordinary people to fight for a better life. Whether in the community or in the workplace, our struggles are the same and our movement is stronger when we pull together.

 

What affiliation means

  • Trade union branches which are affiliated to ACORN will financially support the work and goals of ACORN.
  • Union branches who are affiliated to ACORN will receive a quarterly newsletter from ACORN on our activities and how you can support them.
  • Representatives from union branches who affiliate to ACORN will have the chance to attend branch AGMs or the ACORN National Conference.
  • We will publicise relevant events among our members and offer practical support wherever we can. 
  • Union branches who affiliate to ACORN will have access to discounted tailored organising training from ACORN.

A template affiliation motion can be downloaded by clicking here. Where possible ACORN can also provide a member or organiser to attend the branch meeting in which the motion is proposed.

 

Financial Contribution

Affiliation is a financial contribution to ACORN to support our work and allow us to continue to grow.

Suggested annual affiliation fee is based on the number of members of your branch. This is a guideline and we are happy to accept smaller or larger financial contributions where possible.

 

Suggested annual affiliation fee:

  • 1 to 500 members: £100
  • 500 to 1,000 members: £250
  • 1,000-2,500 members: £500
  • 2,500-5,000 members: £1000
  • 5,000-10,000 members: £2000
  • 10,000+ members: £2000+

 

In-Kind Contributions

There are also other ways that your organisation can contribute:

  • Use of meeting space for members
  • Use of larger spaces for our national conference
  • Cheap or free office space for our staff team
  • Promoting our work and events to your members
  • Donations of laptops, computers and tablets for use by our staff team and membership
