ACORN is looking for an Organising Assistant to support the fight for social and economic change in West Yorkshire, starting on 6th October 2025!

About the job

As an Organising Assistant with ACORN, you will support our organising team with administration, member engagement and building power in West Yorkshire.

Your daily work will involve

  • Assisting ACORN’s Field Director (the head of the Organising department) with day to day administration, diary and task management 
  • Ad hoc administrative support for our national organising team
  • A secretarial role for the organising department including planning and logistics for quarterly meetings, writing reports, calendar management, administering our strategies for membership growth and retention
  • Office management of our Leeds office based in Holbeck including room bookings and stock management 
  • Hands on organising work to support our campaigns and branches including weekly outreach (doorknocking or stalls,) turnout phone calls, supporting expansion of our anti-eviction work in West Yorkshire and supporting with actions

No formal qualifications are necessary! We’re primarily looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, good listening skills and the ability to motivate others.

This role is a 12 months fixed-term contract, with the view to be extended depending on funding.

💸Salary
£22,932pa, Real Living Wage, rising to £23,182 after probation passed

🏖️Holiday allowance
28 days plus bank holidays

Leeds, with some travel across West Yorkshire

🕑Hours
35 hours a week
