Patrick, an ACORN member in Birmingham, is celebrating a successful fight back against his letting agents after they tried to charge him over £1000 for treatment for a bed bug infestation that didn’t work.
Not only that, but the agents or contractors entered his room without his knowledge or permission, leaving him to discover upturned furniture and unexplained white powder around his room when he returned from the Christmas break.
Patrick stood up and took action with fellow ACORN members, with a protest at the lettings agents office, and despite some questionable policing from West Midlands Police (read more on that here), the action was a success!
The charge has been waived, his bed frame has been replaced, and Patrick is now being treated with respect. Result!
