ACORN Bristol started June the right way, with 4 fantastic wins for members in the space of a week.
In East Bristol, a private landlord was stopped from charging an extra £830 to our members. They have issued them with a Section 21 ‘no fault’ eviction, then wanted to charge an extra 2 weeks of rent after the tenancy ended! Not on our watch.
Elsewhere in the city, another Section 21 eviction notice was dropped for members Veron and Zoltan after ACORN got involved, and bailiffs were called off our member Gabriel!
Finally, a family has £4,400 worth of rent dropped after they were made to stay in unsuitable council temporary accommodation while repairs were made to their home. This could have been avoided if the landlord had the necessary insurance to house the family while works were done on the house.
